One person was arrested on charges of practicing witchcraft in Khwaja Bahauddin District of Takhar Province

In line with the implementation of Islamic Sharia rulings, the prevention of prohibited practices, and the promotion of social order and reform, officials (Muhtasibs) of the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice and Hearing of Complaints of IEA, arrested one person on charges of practicing witchcraft in the vicinity of Khwaja Bahauddin District of Takhar Province.
Officials (Muhtasibs) of the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue in the province said that the alleged witch was identified and arrested following complaints from local residents and preliminary investigations conducted by the Muhtasibs.
At the time of the arrest, several books and documents related to witchcraft practices were also found in the person’s possession.
After the completion of the preliminary review and investigation, the case of the arrested individual was referred to the judicial and legal authorities in the province for further legal and Sharia procedures.
Officials (Muhtasibs) of the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue in Takhar emphasized the importance of preserving sound faith and Islamic values. 
They stated that resorting to witchcraft, sorcery, and similar practices is considered wrong and contrary to Sharia principles, and that the promotion of such practices can contribute to ideological misguidance, deception of the public, and social harm.
They also called on residents of Takhar Province to remain vigilant, observe Islamic rulings and values, and refrain from seeking the services of individuals who claim to practice witchcraft or similar activities. They urged residents to report any such cases to the Muhtasibs of the ministry.
