Muhtasibs in Paktia and Paktika Provinces ensured that eight women received their Sh/ar/.ia rights related to lawful marriage
Officials (Muhtasibs) from the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing of Complaints of IEA, in Paktia and Paktika provinces announced that eight women in the provincial centers and districts, who had been deprived of their Sh/ar/.ia marriage rights due to family disputes and harmful customs, were able to obtain these rights through the efforts of the Muhtasibs.Their family members had previously prevented them from entering into lawful marriages.
Officials of the Ministry stated that these women had been kept under family restrictions for a long period and were denied their lawful right to marriage.
Through the intervention and efforts of the Muhtasibs, they were freed from long-term deprivation and were granted their Sh/ar/.ia rights.
The officials further emphasized that a woman’s consent in marriage is her legitimate Is,la,mic right and must be respected. They added “We will not allow anyone to violate women’s rights, and we will prevent incidents that threaten their lawful rights.
Meanwhile, local residents praised the efforts of the Muhtasibs in promoting virtue, preventing harmful practices, and defending and ensuring women’s Sh/ar/.ia rights. They expressed confidence that such actions would help prevent many harmful customs and unlawful practices in society.
